About Me

I am a returned Peace Corps volunteer, consultant, educator and entrepreneur. I am passionate about creating opportunities for international talent to develop and thrive in an interconnected world and have had the privilege of working with partners, clients and communities on five continents.

After living in Senegal for two years I returned to the U.S. and worked for nearly a decade in international education both at Grand Valley State University and The University of Texas at Austin. While in Austin I had the honor of working with esteemed students sponsored by private companies, the U.S. state department, Fulbright and more. I created and managed multi-million-dollar customized programs for the private sector, specifically for engineering students from Latin America, Africa and the Middle East.

An opportunity to move to Medellin arose and my husband and I moved to Colombia. I founded Global Citizen Consulting where I coached Colombian CEO’s and high-level professionals on U.S. business etiquette including negotiations and political considerations while preparing for meetings and contracts with U.S. clients, employees and stakeholders.

After five years abroad my husband and I were compelled to retrun to Grand Rapids, MI which is home. I created Monarch Software to meet what I saw as a growing need for gifted developers. While working in Medellin, I was introduced to a talented team and created a staffing model of Colombian recruits based in Medellin. The team works for U.S. companies through Monarch, and this successful model affords comfortable salaries for Medellin standards on the peso while proving competitive and desirable for U.S. companies.
